Vegetarian Restaurants in Porto

Vegetarian Restaurants in Porto | Blog

Thinking about the gastronomy of Porto is thinking about the francesinha, but this is not the only star dish of the capital of the Douro, there are many options for vegetarians and vegans or, simply, for those who want a bit of vegetables on their way through the city. If you were identified, you cannot miss the following article. Let's start!

One of the most comfortable, fast and easy ways to enjoy vegetarian food in the city is to stop by one of its buffets. We have two in the centre: Cultura dos Sabores (rúa Ceuta, 80) and Da Terra (rúa Mouzinho da Silveira, 249). Great variety at affordable prices.

Another good option is to enjoy a menu of the day that solves the food issue in an economic way. One of the best restaurants that you can find in Porto with these characteristics is the Árvore do Mundo (rua Duque de Loulé, 228), menu at 7€, including a starter, main dish, soup and drink. There is also the option of the Galeria de París, with a menu at 5.40€, where you can also take your non-vegetarian friends, as they can choose meat or fish from their menu at the same price. This one has an advantage, it is very central, within the range of our Free Tour.

Apart from the Galeria de París, there are many places with options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, although most of them tend to have very little variety. However, there is a restaurant where you will surely enjoy whatever the culinary choice: Em carne viva (Avda. Boavista, 868). Despite its name, there is a wide selection of vegetarian finger-licking dishes.

You already see that Porto is much more than francesinhas, there are alternatives for all tastes. But, if despite everything, your friend - the carnivore - has gotten into his head that he does not leave Porto without enjoying his star dish, do not despair, in Santa Francesinha (Praça dos Poveiros, 72) or in Lado B (rúa Passos Manuel, 190) there is a wonderful vegetarian version of the francesinha.
