Make the most of your journey
If you have three days to visit the capital of northern Portugal, you're in luck. Three intense days are enough to get to know the most important attractions of this vibrant and historic city.
Let's start planning the route!
Day 1
The best way to start your tour is to take a Free walking Tour. After a good meal that will allow you to recover the calorie burned, you can take a walk by the river, discover the oldest streets of the city, or admire the beautiful cathedral. If you do not want to do it yourself, go on a trip with us, and we will show you these elements of the city with pleasure!
And in the evening, around 6 p.m., visit bookshop "Lello" and take a picture on the spectacular stairs. Thanks to the evening time, you will avoid queues and will have a chance to appreciate the atmosphere of the place, without the crowd around.

Day 2
A visit to Porto is not complete without wine cellars, so visiting one of them is a must. Cross the Luis I Bridge, stop for a moment in Jardim do Morro and enjoy the amazing views. You can also take a walk around Vila Nova de Gaia and look for elements belonging to urban art. Start by finding a rabbit!
Once you've found an art on the streets of the city and tasted the sweet port wine, it's time to eat. Head to Beira Rio Market, with dozens of food stalls and all kinds of offerings, from the most traditional to the most avant-garde. After lunch, you can take a boat ride on the Douro River, crossing six bridges.
What's next? It's up to you... you prefer to walk along the river and enjoy the views, or maybe you prefer to spend the afternoon in a museum. It is certainly worth visiting the Bolsa Palace.
Day 3
After spending two intense days exploring Porto, the third is reserved for the jewel of northern Portugal: Guimarães. The first capital of Portugal deserves to devote a whole day. Take a tour of this extraordinary city with us and learn about the history of the birth of Portugal by walking through the streets and rooms where the family intrigues that separated the neighbouring country from the rest of the Iberian Peninsula arose. Game of Thrones? Certainly!
In addition to tasting authentic Portuguese cuisine, we will visit the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança and the Guimarães Castle, which only lacks a dragon that would be fabulous. It was there that Alfonso I resisted the siege of the troops of his mother Teresa and his master, the King of León, starting the history of Portugal.
And that concludes our three days. There are of course more things to do, but something you need to book to get back!
